Ohio authorities have launched a manhunt looking for an alleged kidnapper who slipped through their grasp and somehow managed to abduct the same woman twice.
Grove City police released a statement announcing their efforts to find 38-year-old Quinntel Bagley. They said he was last seen on the westside of Columbus in the Hilltop area the morning of August 2. Around 6 a.m. that day, an unidentified woman claimed Bagley kidnapped her from her Grove City home and drove her to the west side of Columbus. She told officers she was able to get away from Bagley unharmed, reporting him last being seen at Eureka Ave and West Broad Street.
However, this wasn’t the first time she had a frightening run-in with Bagley. Authorities said the two had a history, citing a recent kidnapping offense on June 13 where he was accused of abducting that very same woman.
The United States Marshals said in a statement he escaped law enforcement custody following this incident. On body camera footage, he’s seen fleeing the police while handcuffed behind his back in the parking lot area of Fairfield Medical Center. Neither officer present appeared to chase him down the parking garage.
He then allegedly broke into a home near the hospital, bullied the woman inside into giving up her car keys and escaped the stolen Hyundai while armed with a knife outside, per The Columbus Dispatch.
Bagley’s record is decorated with prior abduction stunts, including a 10-year prison sentence for kidnapping another woman after pleading guilty in 2013, per The Columbus Dispatch. He’s currently wanted for aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, failure to comply, parole violation for kidnapping and failure to register as a sex offender.
Authorities are offering a $5,000 reward for any help in locating Bagley. If you know any information on dude, call 911 or contact the United States Marshals at 614-469-5540. At the moment, police consider him armed and dangerous.
